MindKraft is offering an exciting array of STEM camps in Oakville - robotics and coding summer and spring break camps for creative kids who love building and tinkering. From robotics to game development to drone programming, our camps will excite and enrich at the same time. Introduce your child to the magical world of robotics and computer programming. Let them be curious, and develop their creative and logical sides together, while building robots, programming their robots to solve missions and, most importantly, having fun!

ROBOT ADVENTURES

Kids will build cool and funky robots such as walkbots and fight bots using blocks, code and control them using Scratch, go on missions and compete with fellow campers.

FAQs

Q Where will the camps be held?

All the camps will be held at our Oakville location – 1011 Upper Middle Rd E, Unit E5, L6H 4L2.

Q Do you offer before and aftercare?

Yes, we do offer before/aftercare from 8 AM – 9 AM and from 4 PM -5 PM at an additional cost of $15/hour/day

Q Will there be any other activities in the camps?

Other than the robotics and coding related activities, there will be fun games before and after the scheduled breaks.

Q What will my child do during the camp?

In our robotics camps, campers will be spending most of their time building various robots using building blocks similar to LEGO. They will also be competing with other campers to complete various missions which will involve coding using a visual programming tool.

In our coding camps, campers will follow the instructor to complete their own coding projects such as games. In addition, there will be fun games before or after the scheduled breaks.

Q What is your refund policy?

If you cancel your registration at least 2 weeks before the start of your camp, a 100% refund will be provided minus a $20 administration fee.

If you cancel your registration less than 2 weeks before the start of your camp, a 50% refund will be provided minus a $20 administration fee.

No refund will be given if you cancel on or after the start date of your camp.

If we are unable to conduct the camp due to COVID-19 related restrictions, a 100% refund or credit will be provided.

We are also unable to provide refunds or credits for any days missed during the camp.

Q What are your COVID-19 protocols?

The number of participants in the camp will be limited to the maximum permissible under the Government of Ontario guidelines.

Each child gets their own desk and all desks are placed at least six-feet apart.

All instructors, students and parents entering the facility must wear masks at all times.

Each child works on their dedicated laptop and/or robotics and other kits. No sharing of equipment is allowed between students.

There are 3 hand sanitizer dispensers at the centre in addition to 2 washrooms.

Before each class, the students’ temperature will be taken. Children reporting a high temperature or any other symptoms of COVID-19 will not be allowed to participate in the class.

We kindly ask all parents to conduct screening for COVID-19 symptoms before coming to each class. If the child, his/her parents, or other household members are exhibiting any of the symptoms listed below the child must not attend the class. In such situations please contact us to arrange rescheduling of the class. The child must not attend the class in cases when he/she may have been in close contact with a person suspected of being infected with, or exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19.

List of symptoms parents/guardians should screen for their children and themselves before coming to the class:

Fever (temperature of 37.8 C or greater)

New or worsening cough

Shortness of breath (dyspnea)

Q How many kids will there be in the camp?

This will depend on prevailing COVID-19 restrictions. As of March 15, we can only accept 8 kids in our camps.

Q My child has no experience with coding or robotics. Are your camps suitable for them?

Yes, the camp curriculum is designed for kids with no prior experience in coding or robotics although kids with previous experience will be able to move faster through the activities.

Q What do my kids need to bring with them?

Face mask, water bottle, lunch and snacks.

Q Can I enrol my child for multiple weeks? Will the activities be repeated?

Yes, you can register for as many weeks as you want for the robotics and Scratch coding camps as the content will not be repeated. You can register for a maximum of 2 weeks for the Roblox camps and 1 week for the Drone programming camp.

Q Do you offer any sibling discounts?

10% discount for the 2nd and subsequent registrations.
