Q Why should kids learn robotics?

Robotics has been found to be one of the most effective ways of getting kids interested in STEM – an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. It is an ideal for kids who love to play with building toys such as LEGOs as they get to learn about machines, computer science, physics, gears, motors, sensors while having fun with friends. Robotics also helps improve students’ focus and concentration as they strive to complete complex projects by accurately following instructions. It helps in improving their problem-solving skills as they try to male their robots complete the assigned tasks and challenges through computer programming.

Q Can elementary school kids learn to code?

In the last decade or so a number of new tools and approaches have been developed to teach coding to kids. Elementary school kids are not taught the same way as high school or college students. Instead, they start off with visual programming tools such as Scratch which are simple enough for kids to grasp but powerful enough for them to build advanced games such as ping-pong or flappy bird. The curriculum at MindKraft is designed to take kids as young as 6 with zero programming experience to advanced programmers who can code at the standard of college-level computer science students.

Q Should my child learn robotics or coding?

Robotics is a more holistic introduction to STEM and includes computer programming. It is ideal for kids who love building and and like to learn by doing hands-on activities.

Coding is more suitable for kids who are creative problem-solvers, love to play games and are keen on making their own games or learning how their favorite games have been made.
